The Benllech Hotel stands above Red Wharf Bay on the east coast of Anglesey. Its beer garden had become neglected and unkempt, and all views across the bay had been obscured by overgrown vegetation.

The re-design of the pub exterior and surroundings has transformed this forgotten space. All overgrown vegetation was removed and the creation of paved and gravel terraces provided defined spaces for seating and dining.

Existing beds were re-planted with suitable species giving year round colour and interest, increasing kerb appeal and interest from passing traffic. Access to the pub was enhanced with paved ramps and widened steps, and even an old disused access into the village was re-instated to encourage links to the local community.

With the finishing touches of lighting and planters added, the gardens have become a popular destination for both locals and passing tourists.
